I consider myself a representational abstract painter, and my images are created directly from nature or working from photographs or memory in my studio. My approach to painting is non-linear focusing on value, color harmony and shape with the goal of evoking emotions connected to a sense of place or past events. I want my art to elicit a feeling of serenity and a desire to be in that special place depicted in each of my paintings.
